Wow! Where did the summer go? Do I really have to go back to school Friday? Guess I better get out my summer to-do list and see what I need to be doing these last few days…or I could just sleep late and eat ice cream!
We have had a most enjoyable summer! Here’s a little recap of June {which was only 3 weeks b/c our school calendar had us in school until June 7th!} ~
The first few days of summer were spent at Kidz Kamp with Anna. We had a blast! It did my heart a world of good to see how excited the Kindergarten-3rd graders got worshiping Jesus. I’m already ready to go back next year!
As soon as we got back from Kidz Kamp, Anna went to GT camp. Maddie also went to GT camp later in the month. They LOVED being with Mrs. Pool & Mrs. Dougharty. The theme this year was “GT Goes Green” and they made solar s’mores-yum!
We started a small group Bible Study through our Sunday School class and have been tag-teaming with another couple in our class to host these in our home. We have been going through Chip Ingram’s “Living on the Edge” study of Romans 12. God has been using this study to teach me more about the “real me” and the fellowship we’ve had has been amazing!
The girls had been begging me to go see Great Grandma Worsham (Ryan’s grandmother) for a while, so on June 20th we hopped in the car and made a day-trip to Shreveport to visit with her in her nursing home. Granny was in town and met us there. We were able to visit with Great Grandma in the morning, have lunch with Granny and do some shopping, and then visited a little more with Great Grandma that afternoon before heading home. I’m so thankful for this sweet time we had together.
Every year, Ryan works with the crew at East Texas Pregnancy Help Center to organize a benefit golf tournament for the center. We try to make this a family affair, and we always have so much fun helping out with registration, lunch, and of course Ryan does his part by playing in the tournament!
The end of June was filled with fun days of VBS, going to the pool, going to the movies, and I even snuck away for a weekend with my bestie in Canton!
